Proud & Purposeful

The Pasadena Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated

Chartered in 1956, the Pasadena Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated was founded by a distinguished group of mothers from the Los Angeles area united by a commitment to family, leadership, and community service. Among the chapter's charter members were Mrs. Kathryn Teer and Mrs. Jean Mills. As the 84th chapter established nationally and the 6th in the Far West Region, Pasadena quickly became a vital part of the San Gabriel Valley's African American community.

For nearly seven decades, the Proud and Purposeful Pasadena Chapter has championed impactful children's programming, supported nonprofit organizations, and engaged in advocacy and service initiatives that uplift families and underserved communities. Through volunteerism, educational enrichment, cultural experiences, and financial support of local organizations, the chapter continues to honor its founders' vision while developing future leaders and strengthening the community it serves.
